Spring and Renewal
I’m feeling it - the return of green, life, warmth to the world!
The signs are all around us. Sometimes we have to look beneath the cover of leaves, needles, and stored stuff, but it is here. I see the spring flowers sprouting and in the flower shops. The lilacs and trees are leafing and budding. I have fish swimming in my pond, rather than hiding under a wooden and wire cover. I hear birds singing in the trees again. There are even human sounds and sights of this season change. People are making more eye contact, smiling, and interacting more! I hear the children’s high-pitched yells and laughs while they play outside. I see more sports cars, bicycles, and motorcycles on the streets. Butterflies and lady bugs have returned.
With all these signs, I’m also noticing that I feel myself moving out into a more social self. I want to be around people. (For an introvert this is a sign!) I feel I have more energy and more excitement for each day. I want to be outside in the fresh and warmer air. I want to notice and feel the natural world coming alive again. I want to get stuff done – but not work, spring cleaning!
This time is about renewal and refreshing.
The world is a symbolic picture of us and our lives. Nature’s cycles tell us that it is time to come out of our seclusion and introspection back into society – pop our heads out and take a look around. The birds show us it is time to interact and be heard – add our song and dance to the world. The children show us with their laughter and excitement that it is okay to play, be young at heart, and to investigate the world with a beginner’s eyes!
This month give time to your inner child. Play, dance, sing and dream!
Nourish and replenish yourself in all the ways you know:
eat spring crops of greens
do body scrubs or a cleanse
soaking in a mineral bath
get sun and air
sleep on crisp cotton sheets again
move your body and exercise your voice
Oh and don’t forget to laugh!
May the force of a new spring be with you!
