Are You Holding Good Energetic Boundaries?
Are you grieving? Is your heart sore and sad? Do you feel sick, depressed, and/or lethargic? Grief is not inherently harmful. We all grieve, and in our own way. However, if your symptoms do not match your immediate situation, you could be suffering from not holding good boundaries.
In order to become fluent in energy, it is important to ask yourself about your symptoms and the events, thoughts, and feelings that are attached to those symptoms. We are constantly thinking, feeling and being exposed to other’s energy. If you contribute your energy to situations and people around you (usually as an attempt to help, survive, and/or feel loved/appreciated), it can result in feeling exhausted/depleted, overly emotional, or vulnerable.
In addition to giving too much of your energy away, it is possible to take on energies from others. This results in having an abundance of energy, but it is energy that isn’t yours to remedy or thrive from. It can clog up your energy flow, expand your field beyond healthy boundaries, or align you with unbeneficial frequencies. Both of these examples are signs of unhealthy boundaries.
Not listening to your inner voice leads your body/energy to try to communicate in other ways in order to be heard. Physical symptoms such as stomachaches, headaches, diminished or overly active functions, or disease may be ways your energy uses your body to get your attention.
To reinforce your energy field, use the techniques of centering and grounding with intention. Intention is the conscious awareness of creating or doing something for an outcome. It is a focus on the big picture of your expression/behavior. What are you choosing to do? What do you hope to gain with an activity or behavior?
Hold an Intention to build and maintain your energetic boundary. Here are two videos to help you Center and Ground your energy, and then below is more about how to experience your own energy field.
Center
Become still
Eliminate interruptions
Bring your attention to your breath – in and out slowly to the count of 10
Ground
Expand your awareness of your energy flow downward to the earth (as a tree does) for stability and focus.
Can You Experience Your Own Field?
To experience your own energy field, hold your arms straight out to your sides and turn in a circle. You are generally outlining the size of a healthy energy field that radiates out from your body.
Everyone is unique and different and although that is the ‘normal’ size of a healthy energy field, our fields expand and contract based on our interactions. The goal is to be able to re-create a healthy field whenever needed. Practice makes perfect!
The benefit of having and maintaining an energy field is to avoid being dragged back into old patterns where others are influencing your energy. This creates resilience and allows you access to more of what is yours. It also helps to keep the body healthy. When our field is healthy and secure, we innately know where we end and the world begins and we have the ability to say no to that which does not serve us.
With more people being vaccinated, the world is starting to open up. We are now moving beyond the four walls of our individual spaces and this creates an opportunity to reassess our energetic presence:
What is the condition of my energy field?
Do I know where the edge of my energy ends?
Ask, “What would love do?” when interacting with unpredictable situations.
You have a voice inside you to listen to, to learn from and to trust. It WILL take you where you need to go—even while grieving. Do not be afraid. This listening leads us to the mysterious origin of joy and the wonder of childhood. Everything you do is a by-product of being alive and living your life. We are all blessed with the ability to recognize and create joy, and this creation is the deeper meaning of life.
What brings you joy?
And how does joy help you hold healthy energetic boundaries? See if you can experiment with that in the coming month. Send me an email or share your thoughts on Facebook or Instagram.
